Cincinnati Social Security disability lawyer Michael J. Mooney from the Michael J. Mooney and Stephen H. Olden Law Offices joined Moore Law host and TV journalist Deb Haas and attorney co-host Don Moore to answer viewer questions about “Social Security Disability.” Michael said that he thought the Social Security Administration is a good agency. “I’ve been doing this for almost 40 years, and I’ve practiced in front of every kind of agency—unemployment, veteran’s, etcetera—and Social Security really has its act together, in my opinion,” Michael said. “I think the people are caring, I think they want to make the right decision, they’re clearly paid to be skeptical … I think it’s a legitimate agency, and I think it’s trying to do the right thing on behalf of everybody.”
Don mentioned that he recently had a client who was turned down after being rendered a quadriplegic in medical malpractice case. “I’m sure that happens,” Michael said. “I’ve had the opposite experience, where people who were that profoundly impacted get it right away, and there’s a fast-track system that’s supposed to grab those easy, no-brainer type claims and grant them instantly, and I’ve been experiencing that.”
Questions from Moore Law viewers included Sharon in Hamilton saying how she has been seeking benefits since 2006, Mary in Covington discussing how her daughter needed benefits for multiple sclerosis, Sheila in Walnut Hills asking what happens if an individual develops a new illness, Bill in West Chester expressing confusion about how a friend got more benefits depite working less time, Courtney in Seven Hills inquiring about options after having already been denied twice and Esther in Hamilton wondering if she was receiving the maximum possible benefits.
Two unrelated questions from viewers also got answers from Don’s son, Cincinnati personal injuryattorney Dan Moore, during the show’s “Moore Law Connection” segment. Viewers can “like” Moore Lawon Facebook, follow
