Winning Legal Team

Kelly W. Thye

Kelly W. Thye joined The Moore Law Firm in November 2018. He has been practicing law in Cincinnati since 2002.

Kelly grew up outside a small town in rural Iowa. In his youth, he was exposed to a variety of farming and agricultural occupations and his first job was with Cargill seed company detasseling. This continued every summer for over a decade and with other companies such as Pioneer and McAllister Seed Co., Inc. It even broadened into other seasonal tasks of roguing and volunteer corn. He used what he earned each summer to fuel his hobby of reading and traveling.

Once he graduated high school, he continued to The University of Iowa where he earned a degree majoring in History and Political Science. It was there that he really appreciated the wealth of literature contained at the university and eventually focused on the historical significance of World War II, Vichy propaganda, political philosophy, and the law.

He continued his education and received his Juris Doctor from the Capital University School of Law. He was interested in the social contract and his law review article focused on moral right.

It was when he travelled to London and saw the Magna Carta that his interest in historical conflict and the law took shape. He was now driven to assist the unfortunate and aggrieved.

With a foundation based in rural Iowa and an education steeped in conflict and law, he is no stranger to hard work and complex problems. Throughout his career, Kelly has applied determination, creativity, compassion, and patience to his practice.

Kelly is now married and a father of two. He continues to be an active reader when family and work obligations permit. His interest in historical conflict has broadened to a variety of complex wargames and other strategical games, both tabletop and card driven.
