A Chillicothe man was taken by medical helicopter to the Ohio State University Medical Center after being involved in a crash with a tractor-trailer, the Chillicothe Gazette reported on October 19, 2011. Lt. John Monce, with the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, told the Gazette that 26-year-old Brandon Taylor was driving a Ford Escape north on U.S. Route 23 when he struck a 1992 Kenworth T800 hauling a grain hopper west across the northbound lanes near Emerson Road. Taylor was listed in stable condition.

Monce told the Gazette that Taylor’s two passengers, 3-year-old Lucas Taylor and 23-year-old Crystal Caldwell, were both taken to Berger Hospital, where they were treated and released. The driver of the truck, 61-year-old Edward Gifford, was not injured.
