The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released more information on a fatal two-vehicle accident that occurred on May 19, 2011 in St. Clair Township. The incident took place on U.S. Route 30 at around 2:08 a.m.

Jerry Frame parked his 2001 Kia Sportage facing east on the south berm of U.S. Route 30. He was struck by April Guy who was heading east on U.S. Route 30 in a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. Her vehicle went south onto the berm, struck the rear of the Kia and continued off the edge of the roadway, then struck a ditch.

The force of the impact caused the Kia to move to the center of the road, where it then caught fire. Jerry Frame was pronounced dead at the scene. April Guy was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. DUI accidents often wind up with tragic consequences for all of the parties involved, said one Cincinnati serious accident attorney.

April Guy admitted to drinking one beer prior to the accident and registered a .100 on a field breath tester. The speedometer on her vehicle was stopped at 81 m.p.h.

The Highway Patrol could not determine if Frame had activated the emergency flashers on his vehicle due to the extent of the fire damage.
