Moore Law host and local TV journalist Deb Haas and attorney co-host Don Moore welcomed back Don’s son, Cincinnati personal injury lawyer Dan Moore, as viewers called in with questions about “Traffic Accidents.” The lawyers covered numerous aspects of car crashes, talking about courses of action for motorists involved in accidents that were the fault of another party as well as what an individual should do if he or she was responsible for the wreck.

Dan said it was important to contact an insurance company right away after causing an accident. “They should take care of it for you, and it’s really that simple,” Dan said. “If the other insurance companies call, you can refer them to your insurance company.”

“It’s not something you put off,” Don said. “That day, call your insurance. They’ve all got hotlines. They’ll set it up and take care of it. That’s their job.”

“The sooner the better,” Dan said.

There was an assortment of questions from Moore Law viewers, including Tom in Forest Park wondering how pain and suffering values were determined and Kelly in New Richmond asking how the value of a “totaled” car is determined. There were also questions from Katie in Kentucky and Bernadette in Cincinnati about rear-end collisions, and Rich in Cincinnati shared a remarkable story about being injured after passing out on a highway.

The entire “Traffic Accidents” episode is available in the video above. On the next Moore Law, Deb and Don will welcome Cincinnati Chief of Police, James Craig. The “Meet the Police Chief” show airs on Monday, May 28, 2012, at 9:30 a.m. on WXIX-TV, FOX19.
