A man was hospitalized after being ejected from the passenger side of a dump truck and hitting his head on a guardrail, WKRC-TV reported on September 14, 2011. Police told WKRC that 47-year-old Ronald Hoffer was driving the truck and took a turn too fast on Glencoe Verona Road before sliding off the road into a ditch. The passenger door opened and 41-year-old Richard Domaschko fell out, hitting his head.

According to WKRC, Air Care was called but Domaschko refused to fly. He was instead transported by ground to Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Florence. Hoffer was not injured and the accident remains under investigation. WKRC said Southern Ohio Sealcoating Incorporated of Cincinnati owns the truck.

If the driver was speeding before the truck accident, then the injury here was clearly a result of driver negligence. However, if the passenger door was faulty, then poor truck maintenance could be to blame.
