Semi Driver Doesn’t Know Beans About Speed Limit

A load of 5,400 pounds of soybeans was spilled out onto West Fourth Street in Ontario after a tractor-trailer overturned onto its side, WMFD-TV reported on October 17, 2011. The semi driver was apparently driving too fast when exiting off U.S. Route 30, but the Mansfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol told WMFD that 58-year-old Leonard Fox was not injured in the accident. He was given a citation for operating his vehicle without reasonable control.

Thankfully, nobody else on the road was hurt in this accident. However, nearly three tons of cargo could have had catastrophic consequences if another vehicle had been involved. A semi driver speeding with that amount of truck weight poses tremendous danger to the other automobiles on the road.
